How to apply

If you are unsure about your eligibility, required documents, or diploma recognition, or if you would like more details about the admission process or the programme, feel free to get in touch.

The application process consists of three stages outlined below.

Register in IRK

  1. Create an account in the IRK (Internet Recruitment of Candidates) portal.
  2. Complete your personal data and upload the required documents.
  3. Select Cognitive Science (full-time, second cycle) as your programme of study.
  4. Pay the application fee (approximately 100 PLN).

Participate in the Admission Process

  1. Take part in the entrance examination (written and oral stages).
  2. If qualified, submit the required documents within the specified deadline.

Admission Decision

  1. Await the official admission decision.

Each year we organise two admission sessions: one in July and one in September.

July Admissions

  • Registration: 9 June 2026 – 8 July 2026
  • Written exam: 13 July 2026
  • Oral exam: 15–16 July 2026
  • Results announcement: 21 July 2026
  • Document submission:
    • Round I:22–24 July
    • Round II: 27–28 July
    • Round III: 30–31 July

September Admissions

  • Registration: 19 August 2026 – 10 September 2026
  • Written exam: 15 September 2026
  • Oral exam: 17 September 2026
  • Results announcement: 22 September 2026
  • Document submission:
    • Round I: 24–25 September
    • Round II: 29–30 September

Entry Requirements

Admission rules for candidates with Polish and foreign diplomas

Applicants with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, Engineer’s or equivalent degree in any field of study may apply for admission to second-cycle studies in Cognitive Science.

Admission procedure for candidates with foreign diplomas

Candidates with a foreign diploma follow the same rules as those with a diploma obtained in Poland.

Verification of the candidates’ competence to study in English

Candidates are required to have a document recognised by the University of Warsaw confirming their knowledge of English at least at B2 level.List of accepted English certificates (PDF)

Additionally, candidates with a foreign diploma issued in a country which is not a member of the EU/EFTA/OECD or unrecognised on the basis of international agreements of through nostrification are obliged to submit:
